Capture of CO2 Using Mixed Amines and Solvent Regeneration in a Lab-Scale Continuous Bubble-Column Scrubber

This study used monoethanolamine (MEA) as an amine-based solvent, which was blended with secondary amines (DIPA), tertiary amines, stereo and piperazine (PZ) to prepare mixed at the required concentrations, were test solvents. To search for best-mixed a continuous bubble-column scrubber adopted explore performance of solvents presented in this study. The solvent regeneration also carried out different temperatures. selected factors included type amine (A), ratio (B), liquid feed flow (C), gas rate (D), concentration (E), temperature (F), each having five levels. Using Taguchi experimental design, conventional number could be reduced from 15,625 25, saving much time cost. absorption efficiency (EF), (RA), overall mass-transfer coefficient (KGa), factor (ϕ) estimated indicators. After analysis, E, D, C found play important roles capture CO2 gas. Verifications optimum conditions 100%, 19.96 × 10−4 mole/s·L, 1.2312 1/s, 0.6891 mol-CO2/L·mol-solvent EF, RA, KGa, ϕ, respectively. evaluated indexes suggested that MEA + PZ amine, followed by DIPA. tests scrubbed solutions performed showed heat sequence order > DIPA minimum energy 110 °C. individual analyzed here.
